synopsis
THE ACOUSTICOLLAGE was recorded with only acoustic instruments. it was made in honor of the "busking" Rhodes (busking is the term for playing acoustically in a public place). many fans were first introduced to The Rhodes' music in this way, during the summers of 2XX7 - 2X1X in Washington Square Park. some fans even professed preferring the acoustic treatments over the electric versions of some songs. half of the songs were acoustic arrangements of previously recorded songs, while the other half were all-new songs.
each album sold was handmade and had a unique design; every CD was a collage made of recycled newspapers, magazines, and old show flyers. some months later, Daunicht finished the "official" album cover collage (pictured above). half depicts a rural night scene beneath a single telephone pole, while the other depicts the black and white madness of Manhattan's streets. Daunicht cites Elliott Smith's "New Moon" album cover as an inspiration for his own.

working titles
throughout the making of the album, and for weeks afterwards, the band had a difficult time coming to an agreement on a title. the original working title was "BLUPRINT", but during that period, the band compiled a list of seventy-five possible names for the album, ranging from the surreal to the topical, the absurd to the just-plain-awful. we now proudly present you with the tall dilemma that once faced our young heroes.
